Best friends Dave and Julia were determined to never be cliché high school kids — the ones who sit at the same lunch table every day, dissecting the drama from homeroom and plotting their campaigns for prom king and queen. They even wrote their own Never List of everything they vowed they’d never, ever do in high school.

Some of the rules have been easy to follow; like No. 5, never die your hair a colour of the rainbow, or No. 7, never hook up with a teacher. But Dave has a secret: he’s broken rule No. 8, never pine silently after someone for the entirety of high school. It’s either that or break rule No. 10, never date your best friend. Dave has loved Julia for as long as he can remember.

Julia is beautiful, wild and impetuous. So when she suggests they do every Never on the list, Dave is happy to play along. He even dyes his hair an unfortunate shade of green. It starts as a joke, but then a funny thing happens: Dave and Julia discover that by skipping the clichés, they’ve actually been missing out on high school. And maybe even on love.

Misfit Review:

Things I NEVER got to do in high school:

1. I NEVER had a lunch spot.

2. We didn't have prom, so I NEVER got to be prom queen (WTF?) and I NEVER got into student council.

3. I NEVER attended any beer parties coz I NEVER got invited into any of them.

4. I NEVER hosted a BEER party coz my Dad would've killed me or disowned me by then.. Plus I don't drink liquor. HA!

5. I NEVER dyed my hair a different color. Catholic private schools weren't lax about that kinda stuff.

6. I NEVER got to streak, skinny dip, or do anything else that could result in a viral nude pic, coz why? LOL

7. I NEVER hooked up with a teacher coz hello, Catholic school... The horror. (We also never got substitutes, so... too bad)

9. I NEVER got to go on a "life-changing" road trip coz I never looked for myself then.

10. And, I NEVER dated my best friend... coz well, I didn't swing that way... also, I didn't have male best friends in high school.

I'll be keeping this short and sweet since I don't literally have the time to be doing reviews... (why do I do this to myself?) All We Have Is Now discusses the issue of "What if the world ended? What will you do?"

Misfit Talks: A Short Hiatus

Hi there Misfit booknerds! I know it kind of feels weird that I have to post something like a hiatus announcement when I just sort of came back from the dead. I hate myself.

Anyway, as you've already gawked at the title, yes, I will be taking a hiatus... Not like that failed hiatus announcement I did for January. Was it January? Yeah, I suck. But, this one, I'm sorry to say, might be a little more serious.

As you all know, I am in my final year of uni! *falls down on knees* "Thank You, sweet baby Jesus." It took a while, but it is most likely to happen now! I can somehow say bye-bye to studying. LOL. But in all seriousness, before I go and graduate from uni, I have to finish my thesis, which is due on October. Now, it might seem like a lot of time left, but believe me, the pressure is on. We'll most likely have our final paper defense on late this August or the first two weeks of September.

As you can see, busy ugh. So, with that, I'll have to say adieu for a while. Meaning, I won't be posting as much as I would like to. To start, I will only post the reviews for the blog tours I signed for this August, so that's 4, I think. Probably, once a week. And that's it. I have no plans for September yet.

It's kind of sad to think that I have to not type in random things on my blog for a while. But I will be scheduling archived work, so if you want to check those out, then go to my Twitter page.

You may also follow my blog so you'll be updated to when I do come back. You can also scan through my review archives and feature archives for some fun! That would be lovely. And yes, my book tour reviews.

Misfit Review:

If a book has left me in a rollercoaster of feelings, it would have to be this book. Filled with values and morals, Overboard just threw me off into an abyss of feelings, where I am now dysfunctional because it is just so good.

Hi there Misfit Booknerds! So I decided that instead of my announcement, I'm gonna do a tag, which I have not done in forever... JAYVEE! BOO!!!

Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm sorry to those bloggers who have been tagging me but I've ignored. Not because I wasn't interested in your tags...but because I was too busy that I actually forgot I was tagged in them. Anyway, I want to do this tag before I go on with my announcement... Thank you to the amazing Miel of Bookish and Awesome for tagging me for the Real Neat Blog Award... (Here's his original post if you'd like to check it out)

Note: My blog is not neat, for one. But heck! LOL.

Here are some of the questions that Miel has prepared. 

1. If you can only eat one group of food for the rest of your life, what would it be? (Classification can be as broad as “desserts” or as specific as “hamburgers.”

• Even though I seriously thought about swimming in a pool of marshmallows right now, I think I would have to go with flavored chips. Chocolate covered chips, potato chips, crisps, you name it. Just chips. (Seriously though, does having water not count?)

2. What is that book you wish you had when you were younger?

Bookworms Unite! A PH Book Bloggers and Readers Meet-Up (RECAP)

Hi there Misfit booknerds! Missed me? Yeah. I took those 1 week off things again and yeah, it's either I'm really lazy or a slither of creativity just won't grace itself. HAHAHA! Just kidding! I've been very busy with schoolwork for the past week... and yeah, being lazy. HAHAHA!

But before this week ends, I will tell you what happened to me last Sunday, along with some fellow bloggers and booknerds I got to meet! It's Bookworms Unite!

Since the event was gonna happen in Quezon Avenue, my plan to stay at my aunt's place in Taguig was just too difficult. Other than the traffic, it's just way too far. So I asked one of my best friends, Alia of Ponderings of Psyche, to let me stay at her place in Fairview, also coz she has an idea where the place will be. Her family was kind enough to let me live with them for the night. 

When the day arrived, I dragged Alia to come along with me to the event. We got a little lost at first, but that's how we rule. LOL (Basically, I'm useless in situations like these).
