I've been gone forever, haven't I? I know. The funny thing is, I don't even know how to come back to my blog after a month or two of just ignoring it. Mainly, it wasn't laziness. I did think of blogging and also coz I have like millions of features I had to publish and the promise to blog over the weekend, but my body just wouldn't allow me and probably also my heart.

Misfit Talks: When It's Unfair To Be "Sober"
Hi there! It's been a while since I did a talk here about myself... It was more like "the comeback kid has arisen" kind of talk since I did come back from a really long, oh you know what I mean.
I didn't get to talk about it in detail last December but you did know through my photo journal that I had an unexpected hiatus from the blog due to a two week trip to my Mom's hometown in Capiz, which is a place in Visayas.
There, I got to see my cousins who I have not seen for 15 to 16 years and saw relatives I did not know existed, for the first time. We were like huge celebrities, my younger brother and I, and also my two other cousins who have been living in Manila. They are far luckier because they have seen most of the people I don't know.
Anyway, with all the festivities that came about: my sister's wedding, Christmas and a festival, drinking is definitely gonna be involved.

Misfit Talks: I'm Sad AF
I got to see Inside Out around 2 weeks ago and really got into the idea of the whole film... until I realized I wasn't getting into the really sad stuff, like the nitty gritty, Bing Bong's gonna *tooot* that sort of thing. I did shed a tear. Just one, for Bing Bong. But on the general note about Sadness being the main reason for the film's turn and that it is okay to be sad... It is okay. The point of the film is to let Sadness' "ability" as a sort of alert for people to know that Riley or in any case, any other person that he or she is sad.
I have my Sadness, but it doesn't seem to be working properly. I am sad. Many times. Lately, I have been very sad, for reasons unknown mostly, at times frustrations, fear mixed into a concoction of loneliness and tears in the night, but never did I cry in front of my parents letting them know my problem.

Misfit Talks: A Short Hiatus
Hi there Misfit booknerds! I know it kind of feels weird that I have to post something like a hiatus announcement when I just sort of came back from the dead. I hate myself.
Anyway, as you've already gawked at the title, yes, I will be taking a hiatus... Not like that failed hiatus announcement I did for January. Was it January? Yeah, I suck. But, this one, I'm sorry to say, might be a little more serious.
As you all know, I am in my final year of uni! *falls down on knees* "Thank You, sweet baby Jesus." It took a while, but it is most likely to happen now! I can somehow say bye-bye to studying. LOL. But in all seriousness, before I go and graduate from uni, I have to finish my thesis, which is due on October. Now, it might seem like a lot of time left, but believe me, the pressure is on. We'll most likely have our final paper defense on late this August or the first two weeks of September.
As you can see, busy ugh. So, with that, I'll have to say adieu for a while. Meaning, I won't be posting as much as I would like to. To start, I will only post the reviews for the blog tours I signed for this August, so that's 4, I think. Probably, once a week. And that's it. I have no plans for September yet.
It's kind of sad to think that I have to not type in random things on my blog for a while. But I will be scheduling archived work, so if you want to check those out, then go to my Twitter page.
You may also follow my blog so you'll be updated to when I do come back. You can also scan through my review archives and feature archives for some fun! That would be lovely. And yes, my book tour reviews.
Okay then. Till the next time... Bye for now, Misfit booknerds.

Misfit Talks: When I Was A Kid...
Hello hello, Misfit booknerds! Thank you by the way for reading my short features! It means a lot! It's fun to hear your thoughts about my life as it is but what if I tell you some stories about myself as a kid? Yeah, let's wallow about that for a moment and prepare your mind for extreme awkwardness and weird photos... LOL!
So, yeah, let me share with you the fact that I was born in a small town in Batangas, in the Philippines and I am the first girl from the side of my Dad, so they kinda celebrated and thought I was the most adorable thing in the planet. Of course, that all changed when I turned to be this piece of work. LOL

Misfit Talks: How The "Beauty Talk" Changed Me
Earlier this week, a Mom of a classmate I had in elementary (who I don't know if she had any major gas issues but she was, well, she had issues.), and I didn't exactly remember her at first glance. I was in my PJs and there's this huge group of women talking to my Mom because she's a councilor at these parts of my far, far away land. I decided to stroll downstairs, away from my hub, and get food and as I was making my way upstairs, my Mom calls upon me and tells me to say hi. Without even brushing my hair, and of course in PJ's, I said hi to everyone. My old classmate's Mom then said. "Mas maganda sya compare sa dati." which translates to "She's prettier compared to before."

Misfit Talks: Losing Creative Juices
Hi there Misfit booknerds! I have a small dilemma, which could lead to me basically giving up on life. Just kidding. But still, I'm finding myself rather low on creativity lately.
Now I know putting up posts and stuff such as this and talking about certain things like books and authors and whatnot seems creative, but there's so much more ideas I had in mind before that I shut myself down, and now, my brain is crying. Help.

Misfit Talks: My Thoughts Are In British
Hi there Misfit Booknerds! How long has it been since I actually shared something non-bookish related? Oh. That failed Hiatus post. Yeah. Such a fail. This time however, I am not gonna fail to share something about me that might get you either cringing, raising an eyebrow or laughing at me.
My thoughts are in British, like when Dean Pelton of Community said that his thoughts are actually in French. And when I say British, I mean, my mind talks with a British accent, like right now as I am typing this whacked up story, my head is saying it with that accent. It's not like it's a problem coz I'm in love with British accents, no matter how posh or thick they may be.

BOOK HANGOVERS
The other day, a friend and I were talking about Newt from The Maze Runner and how he *bleeeeeep* I can't say unless you actually read it. But yeah. It was like, we really couldn't bring ourselves to forget the topic, most especially since the movie is coming out! But other than that, The Maze Runner trilogy does leave most of us with BOOK HANGOVERS. I've experienced this in many occasions of my reading expenditures and here are the types of book hangovers I've gone through and maybe you have too.
The people with this hangover, who after reading the book wouldn't like to involve themselves in the problems of the world and would rather invest themselves in the ending that is "ALLEGIANT". EHEM. All the emotions and moods that we have such as happiness, sadness, anger, grief, is being sucked into the book. Most hangovers like these tend to last very long. The only thing that may pull the person out of it if the author gives an apology for the character death or sad ending or if one finds a really HAPPY novel to read.
NOTE: HAPPY novel okay!!! Make sure you check. Coz you don't wanna get the surprise of your life again, yeah?

MISFIT TALKS: I HAVE THIS PROBLEM
I missed posting things like this because I can just talk like I want to and rant like I want to and just make the mistake of not caring because lately I feel like I'm just conforming to things and I've gotten bored with it and so I started entering this spiral which was depression and for a while I didn't have the energy to blog and I felt miserable with reading. Even the most beautiful books seem so unattractive to me. I succumbed to my inherent madness and cried for reasons unknown and I knew I was entering a state of existential crisis, which I seem to have been having most of the time but I noticed that it is very apparent for my depression to kick in during August. And I have no freaking idea why. I just call it my "AUGUST DEPRESSION".
I still did reviews for books that were on tour because I didn't want to feel irresponsible for not doing them and the foundation that I had with some of the tour sites could be jeopardized. I did miss one review though because again, it wasn't just a reading slump. It was a full on shut-down from reading. I wasn't even visiting my nearest local bookstore, no matter how near it may be. I guess it was me thinking I'd only be lonely upon seeing them and not really having any money for them. Yeah.
On other news, school is very stoic. Plain. In other words, too normal. My life has become stale and an adventure I've been wanting for sometime couldn't seem to be sufficed by school. And I feel as though, even though I enjoy the company of my school friends, I feel like I'm betraying them when I'm just not interested with what they are talking about because I have thoughts of jumping off of a building. Some jokes even feel empty to me and I sometimes laugh to feel good for myself because a certain sorrow that I could not point out that keeps eating me alive rather than actually enjoying whatever it is that was so funny.I don't know if I just made sense.
And with not reading came the time where I would only be cooped up in my room, watching anime and reading manga which I haven't done in forever. Though blissful and yes, therapeutic, I also ended up realizing I have become a bum in the past month or less. I didn't even want to study for tests.
But I am thankful for positive and happy parents. No matter how dysfunctional, I'm really happy that they haven't made it hard for me during this weird time. And to my friends at school who put up with me, I am thankful that I have them and I'm sorry if I seem so out of it sometimes. To my booknerd friends, I love you! You give me such energy even through the time of not reading at all. To Alia, especially, for your words of encouragement. We can do this sweetie! :) Thank you. And to my blogger friends, who are as understandable as heck! You are all inspirations to me and you keep me going! To authors and books whom I've neglected, yeah, I'm sorry and yes, still, thank you, always. Kai, who became my instant anime buddy through Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, thank you for sharing your time into fangirling with me. It made me happy even for the shortest time we talk about Nozaki-kun and poor, sweet Mikorin! To music and bands who fuel me up. And to God of course for giving me strength to wake up everyday to face the challenges that I did not know I could face. Thank you.
I am better now, I feel much happier and I've missed blogging and reading and I'm catching up on a few ARCs that were given to me by publishers. I'm actually very content for now. And I know that next year, most probably, I'd go through this again but I hope that it won't cause me to take my life. It's a weird thing to think about even if I know I could possibly evade it, but it just happens.

MISFIT TALKS: I Just Met Abed, And This Is What You Do With #SixSeasonsAndAMovie?
I’ve been cooped up in my sister’s apartment for a few weeks, with very limited internet connection supply coz her broadband broke, and well, all hell broke loose! As you may have noticed, I have also encountered the problem of updating my blog often, so I’m truly sorry for that. Anyway, the reason for this rant is because after getting back into the world of social media, for probably a day, I discovered that one of my favorite shows in the whole, entire universe, COMMUNITY, was cancelled.
(Warning... A LOT of Abed and Troy GIF's)
