When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Misfit Review:

As someone who has stepped into adulthood, you might think I'm not anymore bound to the wonders of fairy tales but in fact, they have been a huge part of my upbringing, thus my continuous love for them. Sarah J. Maas' new novel will indeed fill up that fairy tail void while also bringing a more mature flair that will set you on fire.

The Misfit Interviews: Fun Facts with Alex London

So before Alex London heads to the Philippines for his book signing, I decided to ask him a bit about himself! And he cracks me up...most of the time! Here are some things you might want to know about Alex London! :)

1. Do you play any kind of sport?
  • I played soccer in elementary school, ran track in middle school, and briefly played lacrosse in high school. I was terrible at all of them.

2. Do you type your manuscripts or write them on paper?
  • I type them, using a program called Scrivener
3. Favorite kind of pet?
  • DOG!
4. Breakfast combos?
  • Coffee and...anything!
5. Pet peeves?
  • I can't stand the sound of nail files. For some reason, it's torture to me.
6. Inspirations for writing novels?
  • That question is too big for this answer.
7. Coffee or tea?
  • See above.
8. Favorite place to read in?
  • Anywhere except the shower. That would not work out well.
9. Favorite TV show binge?
  • I always like discovering a new show, but I can always binge on 30 Rock.
10. I really do think you look a bit like John Green, what do you say about that?
  • I suppose that means we're both terrible handsome, eh, but I'd love for my book sales to look like his too.
11. What types of music do you listen to?
  • Pretty typical nerdy white guy rock-Arcade Fire, Neutral Milk Hotel, Spoon. Also I like the show tunes from Broadway.
12. Odd or weird habits?

13. Do you like exercise?
  • Like it? I dunno. I do it and feel good afterwards but it does take some effort to get up and run or work out.
14. What's the first thing you bought when you received your first pay check (please say books.LOL)
  • Well, one of my first jobs was in a bookstore, and yes, my first paycheck went largely to books, especially because I got a discount for working there!

  • Writing more books!
So that's it! But PS! I have one question from a friend! :) Her name is Eriele! (Shout out to Eriele! WOO!)

1. Do you get to hang out with David Levithan? Check out DavidLevithanPH on Twitter, coz we die for him and we want him to know how much we love him. :)
  • Ha! Yes, he's an old and dear friend! He'll actually be at my wedding 3 days before I visit the Philippines. I'll tell him y'all said hi. :)

EEEEP! That last one tho! HE'S GETTING MARRIED!!! WHAT THE!? WHAT SHOULD I GIVE HIM!? Anyway, he's gonna have a book signing at SM Aura on August 30th! It's a Saturday, so I'm hoping I can see some of you there! :) Do leave comments below if you are! For more information, check out this post...

ABOUT PROXY

Knox was born into one of the City's wealthiest families. A Patron, he has everything a boy could possibly want—the latest tech, the coolest clothes, and a Proxy to take all his punishments. When Knox breaks a vase, Syd is beaten. When Knox plays a practical joke, Syd is forced to haul rocks. And when Knox crashes a car, killing one of his friends, Syd is branded and sentenced to death.

Syd is a Proxy. His life is not his own.

Then again, neither is Knox’s. Knox and Syd have more in common than either would guess. So when Knox and Syd realize that the only way to beat the system is to save each other, they flee. Yet Knox’s father is no ordinary Patron, and Syd is no ordinary Proxy. The ensuing cross-country chase will uncover a secret society of rebels, test both boys’ resolve, and shine a blinding light onto a world of those who owe and those who pay. Some debts, it turns out, cannot be repaid.

A fast-paced, thrill-ride of novel full of non-stop action, heart-hammering suspense and true friendship—just as moving as it is exhilarating. Fans of Anthony Horowitz's Alex Rider series, James Dashner's Maze Runner, Patrick Ness's Chaos Walking series, and Marie Lu's Legend will be swept away by this story.

ABOUT GUARDIAN

In the new world led by the Rebooters, former Proxy Syd is the figurehead of the Revolution, beloved by some and hated by others. Liam, a seventeen-year-old Rebooter, is Syd’s bodyguard and must protect him with his life. But armed Machinists aren’t the only danger.

People are falling ill—their veins show through their skin, they find it hard to speak, and sores erupt all over their bodies. Guardians, the violent enforcers of the old system, are hit first, and the government does nothing to help. The old elites fall next, and in the face of an indifferent government, Syd decides it’s up to him to find a cure . . . and what he discovers leaves him stunned.

This heart-stopping thriller is packed with action, adventure, and heroics. Guardian will leave you breathless until the final page.
