BOOK BLOGGER LOVE-A-THON 2016 MINI CHALLENGE: MIX AND MATCH

    --We all love books, but there are other things we’re passionate about too! Mash-up a non-bookish hobby/passion/talent/fandom with your bookish life. Do it through photos, art, videos, etc. Get as creative as you’d like!

I'm gonna be posting some photos of my certain hobbies and passions that I kinda mashed up with some books. Please excuse the low quality as I only got to use my iPhone 4S's front cam and couldn't use my DSLR camera coz my card reader and connector's missing and I can't upload any photos with it. *cries* Also, you will be witnessing photos with my face in it, so again, bear with it all. Photo Journal: New Year, Reading and Being a Hermit (January)

Hi there! Another month has passed and I'm still alive! Hooray! While this year has proven to suck since a lot of my favorite artists keep dying... I really don't know where I'm going with this but January sucked a lot for my feels. But it's still the New Year and other than the deaths, my January, was quite "eventful" or maybe not.

Photo Journal: Out and About + Unexpected XMAS Hiatus (December)

I love taking photos. Ever since I was a kid, photos have been treasured memories that I gazed on in old photo albums we had stacked in the basement. It'd be the reason why I'd even go into such a dingy place in our house but it felt like a magical place to be in since the photos told me stories of the old and even those of my own when I was younger.

Of course with the digital age, it's completely different to how it has been. Photos, rather than stuck in photo albums, are uploaded to sites such as Facebook and Instagram, to keep memories digitally preserved. Though the method is different, getting to look at photos old and new still stirs up really good feelings.

"SELFIE" on Your Dictionary

Hi Misfits! Are you aware that the word "SELFIE" has actually been voted "WORD OF THE YEAR" by Oxford Dictionaries this 2013? Well oh well, that's what Google's for, as Caspar Lee would say. I love you Caspar Lee. 

Anyway, a couple of days or maybe a week ago, I stumbled upon a Rappler post on Twitter that the word "SELFIE" is now part of the Oxford Dictionaries Online, not yet on Oxford English Dictionaries (hopefully soon enough).

The word "selfie" means: (Taken from Oxford Dictionaries Online)

a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website.

The word "selfie" was actually used in 2003 but rooted around the time of 2002. Its use was first heard or seen in an Australian internet forum. See the Oxford Dictionaries Online Blog for further details on the story.

I think they better hurry up with printing out that new Oxford English Dictionary! Now for some, maybe it's a waste of time to even think about this or that it's totally bonkers. But why think that? I mean with the rise of social media, particularly Instagram, it's almost impossible not to be a part of the fandom. Even Obama and the Pope are in on the fun! Selfies are everywhere, wherever you may be from. I am seriously guilty with being rather obsessed with taking a few selfies of myself. Maybe not a few.
