Hi there! It's been forever since my last Top Ten Tuesdays post. I decided to take it easy with posting memes for the past month and I guess it was therapeutic but then it made me miss it. So here I am, writing a post for this week. Anyway, let's get to it! The theme for this week is Ten Book Related Problems I Have. I kind of interpreted this as problems I have when it comes to reading and also when it comes to questions I get in the process.

Hi there Misfit Booknerds! I'm a sissy. If you have been following my blog and what goes on in it, you'd know that I am easily terrified of reading scary stories and I'm easily shaken if they have pictures and stuff. Yeah.. A sissy. But I will recommend five books that might just get you in the Halloween spirit. And then five of my favorite characters I'd want to dress up as on Halloween!

BOOKS TO READ

1. Carrie by Stephen King

A quintessential Stephen King read is Carrie which is his debut novel that has put Stephen King on the map! It is the story of a young girl named Carrie who is an outcast at school. Her mother has been overprotecting her and been influencing her in the teachings of the world. Carrie, however, wants to experience how it is to be a normal young teenager but experiencing her first period doesn't help with her situation and everyone bullies her at school. Carrie becomes more of an outcast but learns that she has telekinesis. A tragedy at school prom pushes her on the edge, making this book one of the best horror/thriller books ever. The movie also brought out the best out of Carrie's story. (I'm talking about the 1976 film okay? The new one just didn't cut it. Sorry Chloe and Ansel)

2. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman is one amazing story teller, and in fact, one of my favorites! The Graveyard Book is one of his classic books published telling the story of Nobody "Bod" Owens as he lives with ghosts in a graveyard after his parents were murdered by the man Jack. He is then pursued by the man Jack to finish what he had started, and the ghosts in the graveyard won't let anything happen to Bod and decide to protect him. The story is filled with unique and amazing characters that will melt your heart but also give you the spook that you need for Halloween! It's also a perfect Halloween read for the kids!

3. Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Equipped with haunting black and white photos, Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children tells the story of Jacob Portman as he meets children with peculiar abilities and powers. He must help them get away from the hollows that are trying to destroy their time loop in order to get rid of the peculiar children. Jacob, along with the other children try to save their time loop while also finding out about the secrets that lie in his grandpa's past. Ransom Riggs was able to bring out a humor and a definite scare in his novel with his story as well as with the photos he used. Read Hollow City as soon as you finish it.

4. The Shining by Stephen King

Another Stephen King novel, I haven't actually read The Shining yet, however, I do have a friend who has been pushing me to read it. I have seen a little bit of the film, which I regret, not because it was bad, but because it is terrifically terrifying! I had to hide under my blanket, seriously. It tells the story of Jack Torrance who accepted a caretaking position of a hotel where he takes his wife and son, Johnny who has the "shining", an ability to see the supernatural beings living in the hotel. These supernaturals cause a break in Jack's sanity and thus, causing a risk to his family.

5. The Silence of The Lambs by Thomas Harris

If you aren't scared of Hannibal Lecter, in any degree, then I don't even think you are human. I have read Silence of The Lambs, never finished out of fear of being eaten by a novel. I was that scared. The movie wasn't any different causing spasms and a nervous breakdown from my body. If you don't know who Hannibal Lecter is, I have one word for you. CANNIBAL. HAHAHA! Pun, but seriously. If you have the guts to read it, then I really recommend it but read Red Dragon, which is the first, that I finished and was great as well!

HALLOWEEN DRESS-UP

1. Adelina Amouteru from The Young Elites by Marie Lu

Seems impossible really, Adelina is becoming one of my faves, mostly because of her look and also coz steampunk. DUUUH! HAHAHA! 

2. Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Sport a leather jacket or a hunting jacket, some black jeans, braid your hair to the side and put on some barely there make-up, and you got yourself Katniss Everdeen, somehow. You can make your own bow and arrow or go to a kids' store then spray paint a toy black.

3. Luna Lovegood from The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

Now I know most girls would go with Hermione Granger, which is fine, honestly, I would love to, but dressing up as cute and a little loony, Luna Lovegood seems befitting for Halloween. Find a uniform, a wand, a blonde wig if you ain't blonde and then take out some funny shoes and those classic glasses!

4. R from Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

Easy enough to mess yourself up with make-up, cake yourself white and walk like a total zombie will surely make a Halloween more halloween-y!, yes? Plus R is so hot, so guys, don't hesitate to dress up as him.

5. Sherlock Holmes from Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

I know, I know. This is BBC's Sherlock, but it is a lot easier to put on a sexy purple shirt, pants, an amazing coat and a sweater that just accentuates your face. Plus, please, SHERLOCK!??? No matter if it's the classic Sherlock or BBC Sherlock, Sherlock is still SHERLOCK! Sorry, I'm quite obsessed with him.

Have you ever dreamed on travelling to world full of magic and amazingness or just a place where you can just relax in and only books have ever provided you so far with that feeling? I feel you Misfit booknerds and am actually listing down 10 books with places I really, really want to go to. Places range from fictional or real, so anything could happen! :)


1. The Strand, Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by David Levithan

I've always, always been fascinated with New York and reading about The Strand more in Dash and Lily was an affirmation of my love. BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS! AHHHH! BOOKS!

2. Narnia, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

A fantastic place with mythical creatures, fun "activities" and friendships forged, Narnia is a place of valor, mystique and horrors too that you would want to visit. Plus Aslan! I tried entering my closet. It didn't work unfortunately.

3. Hogwarts, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

Hi there Misfit Booknerds!!! It's another Tuesday, time for another Top 10! This week's topic is all about books with character driven stories! Some of these books I may recommend to you might remind you of my other Top 10, but really, I've read these books and the characters here are what lifts the story up into its shining glory!

1. Where She Went by Gayle Forman

If you've read my review before on Where She Went, you will know how much I loved Adam's character, even though he turned to an utmost douchebag in the beginning. The way that Gayle Forman was able to work out a very vulnerable and tense Adam was absolute genius.

2. The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

This story is just, ugh! I love the incorporation of love in midst of death and moving on. It also tackles the themes of jealousy, selfishness, acceptance and letting go. I love how each character in this story made it all worth while. Each character has a flaw that makes them very real and truly, this novel is an A++. I should review this soon.

3. The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Need I say more? The characters are just so pure, real and honest that it feels like you are actually in the story, talking to them, going through the same pains and lingers of love. It's a book that starts subtly but gets rough and unbelievable in the middle that you can't stop. Then the ending, with each of the characters finding themselves somehow, better, allows the readers to be hopeful for themselves too! A TRUE COMING OF AGE STORY!

4. Play Me Backwards by Adam Selzer

A weird take on a coming of age story, yet speaks of truths untold. You can never go wrong with an original way of handling how the teenage and troubled mind should be handled! Plus Moby Dick and White Grape Slushee??? Ain't that original enough? HAHAHA! Will post my review on this soon, I swear!

5. The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu

Everything so wrong about how this story is handled by the characters is what makes this book a gem, for me that is! The way bullying is expanded into a story about Alice Franklin, will get the readers thinking about the truths that revolve around her, and how the human psyche affects the choices that people make.

6. The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick

A quirky take on psychological tendencies and problems but mixing it with fun and dancing, the Silver Linings Playbook shines because of it's characters wit and rudeness. They bring the fun, sorrow and joys of being alive and living in the moment without worrying about the people that may say otherwise or the failures that you may have gone through.

7. The Spectacular Now by Tim Tharp

How one young man realizes that the now maybe something but the truth behind what the future beholds is something that may challenge his beliefs and break his walls. The film with Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley was also an amazing adaptation to an amazing source material!

8. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan

I really loved this story about two boys with the same name, with different character profiles and personalities. The contrast between their beliefs and assumptions on life and friendship maybe polarizing, but their attitudes towards making someone happy was the saving grace this book could ever ask for. And please, who can resist Tiny Cooper?

9. The Realm of Possibility by David Levithan

I know, 20 people may be too much to handle, but The Realm of Possibility allows us to see the infinite possibilities of how certain situations and relationships can affect their lives and decisions. I really really love this book and I would never grow tired of recommending it to friends. Plus, who doesn't love a Holden Caulfied reference?

10. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

Just one thing: Holden Caulfield understands us. In his annoying way, Holden Caulfield provides a tough exterior, a sense of control over his fear of growing up and realizing that his choices may turn to his downfall and that he can never go back even if he wants to, thus The Catcher in the Rye.

TOP TEN TUESDAY: Top 10 Book Characters That Would Be Sitting At My Lunch Table

1. The Perks of Being A Wallflower characters, well most of them

Sign me up to be part of the island of misfit toys! I'm sure that if I ask Patrick and Sam to sit with me, they'll drag along every single one of their friends, including Charlie who I will sit next to. YAY! I need interesting people like these to sit next to and talk about 90's indie music and The Smiths

2. Finnick Odair from The Hunger Games

Eye candy purposes, duuuh! Plus it would be nice to talk to him about any fish dish recipes.

This week, I'm gonna be talking about books that I really really want to read after being presented to me through various sites and specifically, GOODREADS! :) They have also been in my to-read list and I can't wait till they come out...or until I can have more money in my wallet!

1. Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang

Not only am I a fan of the story but also of debut author Amy Zhang for being so young, yet venturing on this tough adventure! I cannot wait till it comes out. The reviews are also mostly positive, so, again, can't wait! Hoping it won't disappoint!

2. Winterspell by Claire Legrand

I don't know how many times I've requested a galley of this but I won't give up. As a kid, I grew up loving the story of the Nutcracker, so it gives me such pleasure that a book that plays upon this story is coming out!

3. This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales

As you all know I'm a huge music fan  but unfortunately, I haven't read this book even if I want to. It's just not that available at my local bookstore and I have to travel far to get it, there can't be no transfers done and also, I hate ordering online at most cases. But still, once I do get the book, I will dive in.

4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Again, nuff said. I feel like I'm betraying myself coz I wasn't feeding myself this wonderful book! And with 2 other books, I'm so late to the feast, but I'm still gonna dive in!

5. Speechless by Hannah Harrington

For now, I am speechless.

6. The Unbecoming by Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I feel like I'm not doing my friend justice for not reading this book yet and I feel like I can't relate to certain conversations regarding this, although I am very eager to read it, it's just that, I don't have it.

7. Aleph by Paulo Coelho

I'm a huge Coelho fan but I haven't been reading his stuff lately. I really, really want to but so many stuff on the TBR, it pains me to see this book at the book store and also not having money for it.

8. Memoirs by a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin

I've only recently discovered this book even existed and I was enchanted with the synopsis. I want to see whether I'd feel in any way connected to the person I forgot...

9. The Program by Suzanne Young

Murder me now for I know it is a good story!!!

10. Endsinger by Jay Kristoff!

Jayvee, there is this phrase called, "Wait patiently!", but I guess I'm in a bit of doozy when it comes to that! I CANNOT WAIT!!!! It's honestly one of the books I am looking forward to read all year! SWEET MOTHER OF CHEESES!

It's been a while since I posted a Top Ten Tuesday feature and I feel bad because it's one of my favorite memes. Anyway, the topic this time is books that I MUST read as told by trusted blogger friends through their recommendations as well as from friends who have the same passion.

1. The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski

I've seen so much rave about this book, mostly from bloggers and I really do want to read it. I really love the premise of the story and the amazing book cover! GAH! It's too bad that the nearest local bookstore I have here doesn't have it. 

2. I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore

I've seen the I Am Number Four movie and I kinda liked it. Well, not really. But it had Dianna Agron and. I'm such a huge gleek, so support. But yeah. It was a bit of a bore. Anyway, as for the book, I have soooooo many friends who have read the books already, and Revenge of Seven is already coming out. I honestly wanna be part of the fun. But yeah. It's not that easy.

3. The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

Goodness gracious! My blogger friends have read this book and loved it, and I have this raging need to read it. I think there's something to the ending that I must look forward to.

4. Black City by Elizabeth Richards

I've seen the Wings tour which was to help promote Wings, the final book to the trilogy and there was so much excitement to the books that I was left curious to read it. I am actually borrowing a book from a friend later and checking out Black City. I hope I like it.

5. The Geography of You and Me by Jen. E. Smith

Though I am a fan of romantic YA stuff, I was recommended this a long time before but I have never tried reading the whole trilogy. I have The Geography of You and Me though and would love to really get into it soon.

6. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

So. Many. Good. Things. About. It! That's all I can say. I see it in my local book store and I feel bad that I can't just swipe it out of there. 

7. Just One Day by Gayle Forman

A friend says I would love it. The only problem now is having the books to read it.

8. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Some friends and bloggers say that the books are totally great. I just hate it when the nearest local book store to me doesn't have a single damn copy of any of the trilogy!

9. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

NOW THIS! I would love to devour this book! There are great reviews, mixed but mostly great! I WANT IT! I'll definitely get it soon! That's a promise. And also all three books! WOOO1

10. Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

I was suppose to review this book for tour, but schedules changed and I can't wait to actually read this book! The cover is simple yet beautiful, the story of two best friends finding themselves! UGH! I must! I must!

TOP TEN TUESDAY: Top 10 Favorite Movies or TV Shows

Hi there everyone! It is Tuesday again, which means I'll be sharing some stuff with you guys, and the topic this week is my favorite movies or TV shows. I love both form of media so I'll share 5 of my fave movies and 5 of my fave TV shows. How's that sound? Okay! Lezz go!

MOVIES!

1. The Spectacular Now

Hands down, one of my favorite movies of all time. It is raw, honest and totally gets to me every time. The story is beautiful and totally relatable! You guys should see it! I did a review for it already! So, you already know how much  I love it!

2. (500) Days of Summer

I am a person that totally dies for sweet, sappy love stories. This movie is unconventional in it's way of delivering the story between Tom and Summer. Every time I watch it, I go into an odd state of happiness, sadness and crying fits. Watching this movie is not for people going through bad breakups. Nah-ah. But then again, it does give that great lesson in the end. Let's go! I think I'm gonna do a marathon soon for a review!

3. Wall-E

Awww dear, sweet Wall-E. Touches my heart every, freaking time. And the comedic factor of the movie has shown that words are not the most important in relaying a message of love and the truth that the future can look like the world around Wall-E.

4. The Breakfast Club

A movie for the young and the young at heart. Everyone can relate to the differences between the characters, yet there is always that want to break that wall between the merging of those differences. A beautiful film of acceptance and growing up. And that soundtrack!!! DON'T, DON'T, DON'T, DON'T! DON'T YOUUU, FORGET ABOUT MEEE!

5. Silver Linings Playbook

Raw emotions that at some point hits directly at home. Though for most people, this movie are whacked up, in my case, it's a beautiful symphony of sensitive and comedy. Applause to David O. Russel and to the beautiful cast specifically, Bradley Copper and Jennifer Lawrence.

I have a few more movie favorites to be honest, like,70 more, or more. LOL! But yeah, these 5 are worth watching! :)

TV SHOWS

1. Community

Y'all know how much I love Community and it's characters, particularly Abed. The story is diverse, quirky, fun and all out fantastic! I have no words! AND BECAUSE YAHOO SAVED COMMUNITY, GIVING THE SIXTH SEASON THAT IT DESERVED, I AM PARTYING LIKE A FREAK AND WAITING FOR FALL TO ARRIVE! YAAAAY!

2. Sherlock

*dies* Nuff said. Well, I have a lot of things to say, but it would probably take 3 parts of posts. But yes, I have to wait for 2016 to watch Season 4, while watching 9 episodes total of 3 seasons and laughing like a fool and trying to solve the cases with Sherlock.  Can it be 2016 already? Thank you! And Benedict Cumberbatch! ACK!

3. Teen Wolf

Hot high school boys, supernatural creatures and hunters, with an awesome story line? Then come on and join the Teen Wolf fandom! We wish you good luck while watching the first season all the way to the 3rd *winks* The 4th season is currently on air and boy oh boy oh boy! NEW KIDS! <3

4. Glee

I will forever be in love with Glee, it's characters (till Season 3) and it's story line. I will forever lament the loss the show's loss over Cory Monteith and cry at every opportunity I get. I hope they do justice to the the sixth season's 13 episodes.*prays*

5. The Big Bang Theory

I'm a nerd, a geek, and I relate! HAHAHA! I have social issues too and the show caters to the guys' every day endeavors when dealing with people while playing video games and solving the questions of the universe. Truly funny and witty!

Same with movies, I have a ton of TV shows I love. But yeah, just 5 this time!

1. Stats mean something.

I always check my stats, like who reads and from where. I sometimes think I'm obsessed with seeing from what country most of my audiences are. I'd sometimes freak out when I actually have people react to my posts too! It's such a nice thing!

2. TBR's take up my life.

I have so many books on my TBR pile, it's insane. I don't even know if I can read all of them and sometimes I have some e-ARCs from Netgalley or Edelweiss and I'm not even sure if I can read them all and review them.. #BookBloggerDilemmas
