This post is truly dedicated to those a-holes who have made a fool out of me, making me think they are my real friends, legit y'all. But all they are are blood sucking, backstabbing, unbelievable creatures... Here are some examples of situations when your so-called friends are really nothing more than that...

TRUST IS BIG, MAN... IT REALLY IS

When you think you know everything about your friend, well think again coz at some point they have something against you, something they could never say or they just like making a fool out of you. One moment you are all close to them and second you find out, they've been talking about you behind your backs... FRIEND 101 (which I just basically thought of and could apply to you...) says "NEVER BETRAY A FRIEND..." It applies with keeping secrets or never make them sail the seas alone...

MOVIE REVIEW: EPIC 2013 Save The Forest

If you could ever help save the forest, what exactly would you do? Let's say you turn into, I dunno, a teeny, tiny person, then would it be possible? Well, with lots of faith in magic, fantasy and whimsy, I'll say yes, especially after seeing EPIC (2013). Get yourselves some Leafmen!

Chain Bliss: Fast Food Playgrounds and Their Amazingness!

Earlier today, my friend and I where strolling around the city, buying meds for her grandma. (Don't worry. They're legal, so.) After examining the medicine and rejecting some of them, we decided to leave the pharmacy and head out to 7-11. She needed to load her iPhone, which I wish I actually had. As we crossed the street, I saw McDonald's and all its fast-food glory and atop on the 2nd floor was this playground where children were playing, with their mommies and daddies panicking over them as they fall off the "longest-slide-they-ever-saw" slide and those colorful balls that in reality, has been infected with 99.99% of germs.

But even with me feeling sorry for those kids getting salmonella or some sort of disease, I wish at some point I felt that way or even remember. As far as I am concerned, I have no memory of me playing in any fast food playgrounds, and I feel sad about it because it kinda makes me feel like I did not ever make any effort to have fun as a kid.

Dealing With Things Awkward and Fake-ly Sentimental

I look at you from the corner of my eye as you talk to one of our mutual friends, or maybe she wasn't your friend, neither do I know if she is mine, so let's just say that she's one of our "mutual acquaintances". The reason why I cannot look at you head-on was because of a certain "misunderstanding". On my part it may have been, but you must've taken it more seriously than I ever did, so the reason why we don't talk anymore.

We were never close. We talk and laugh at what others are saying but never just between the two of us. In the very beginning, everything was painted with awkwardness. One way or another, I've become plastic by making sure I do not get in your bad side but I guess that was one of the main reasons why we never had a decent friendship. It could've been that way but now, it might never be.

CINESTHESIA: Submerging Into The World of Indie PART 2 Review

So, I came back to Manila to spend two more days of the Cinemalaya experience. It was difficult coz I had to travel from Batangas after a hectic day at school to Manila just so that my 10 o'clock ticket for the next day won't go to waste.

And it wasn't put to waste. I reached the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) just in time before the first movie starts, so I checked out the availability of tickets for the next movies. And I was baffled, shocked and all the adjectives to describe a jaw drop. The attendant told me that tickets to the Shorts Category, which I was expecting to watch, were sold out even before I got there. Other movies such as Nuwebe, Quick Change, David F. and those from the Directors' Showcase Category were sold out. even Burgos, the closing film of the whole festival.

I wanted to sink in the stairs of the lobby but I had no time to sulk. I headed to the Nicanor Abelardo Theater to watch the first film of the day.

CINESTHESIA: Submerging Into The World of Indie PART 1 REVIEW

After a week of films, personalities, attitudes and budding feelings, I would say that my second year indulging myself to Cinemalaya Independent Films was worth it.

I never would have thought that I would obsess over the Philippine indie scene after seeing Thelma, directed by Paul Soriano, last year. From then on, I invested my time on independent movies and checking out directors as well as scriptwriters. And to fully submerge myself into the world of these unconventional thinkers, I needed to go back to the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) to watch films that I felt at that time would give me jitters and cause mind blowing-ness. (if that is even a word. Maybe not.)

And from July 28-29 and August 3-4, I truly was blown away by the captivating stories presented this year. And though I haven't necessarily said my individual assessments on the films, the whole experience was endearing and worth-while.

Now with my individual assessments, I wouldn't be sugar-coating things though I did say the stories were captivating. Just you know, read. You'll understand. HAHA!

I've seen only 10 films: 7 from the New Breed Category Full Length features and 3 from the Directors' Showcase Category. Unfortunately, I didn't get tickets for the shorts because of the shortage of tickets and seats.
